AISI Program

Our division is embarking on Cycle 4 of AISI (Alberta Improvement School Initiative). Over the next three years all staff in the division will be involved in our three AISI projects. The first project focuses on literacy, based on the belief that every teacher needs to be a teacher of reading. Specifically, this project will improve student reading comprehension in every subject using twelve specific reading strategies. The second project is intended to increase mathematics achievement for all K-9 students. Parents are encouraged to see their children’s teachers to begin understanding how this will be different for students, teachers, and parents. The third AISI project consists of counseling and the development of a Student Support Team (SST) in our school which will assist students who are struggling academically, with the overall goal of a 100% high school completion rate.
